Ask someone who is active in network marketing why mlm works. And then ask him how it works. Too often will you get the same answer to two different questions.
The real answer to why it works may likely come as a shock to you. Without being a well known mlm success, I just feel the need to tell you this. When I found the real answers, I was shocked because it is so trivial. Yet, why do well over 90% of people find it so difficult to become 'one' with the answer?
This page attempts to point you into the right direction by describing why I had to change something about myself to improve things. Yes, it took time but, things really improved when I changed that basic thing inside my head. Understanding why mlm works is the key. Find out below.
Why did I have to change myself first?
Because I had something in common with most people: selfishness. It slashes all your efforts in trying to build these all important and valuable relationships. Here's why I think our selfishness kills the very thing we are all trying to achieve.
Why mlm works is about you. You may know the saying: "For Things To Get Better, You Have To Get Better". Selfishness hinders you from:
- being able to actually duplicate yourself, and
- internalizing the intent or motives with which you will approach others in order to get your business running and to achieve true duplication
- learning and from being able to change yourself - something that is deep down in your mind's unconscious
It's a process that will require you to teach and learn at the same time to finally duplicate yourself. It needs a lot of trust but,
- once you can help your downline to get into profit consistently, and
- once you can make them even more successful at building lasting relationships with their customers and their own downline,
Not selfish intent but sharing is the key. If sharing truly means putting people and relationships before profit, then you are looking into the right direction.
To move into the right direction, you will have to become 'one' with that
- 'win-win' intent to build equally beneficial relationships, and
- the 'win-win' actions required to build such valuable relationships.
Correct - it's the win-win-perspective. Not selfishness but your win-win motives and behaviour.
You approach a potential business partner with the intent to reach an equally beneficial outcome for you and for her. And? ...
Why mlm works has not much to do with how it works - it's the other way around. How mlm works has all to do with knowing why network marketing works. Also...
Why mlm works has not much to do with the benefits of joining a business or buying a product. Why mlm works is all about our ability to ban our selfishness and to begin sharing with the best interest of our customers and downline members at heart. It's about our own ability to truly and reliably duplicate ourselves.
Why mlm works is about your downline learning every aspect of how mlm works from you. They will have to understand and apply it to build their team. You will help them but, it's them who do it. How else can you reliably duplicate yourself? There is no point in you selling products for them nor in you building their downline.
The Mountain Example

Knowing why your mlm business works, made the stairs visible to your eyes. You'll even master how to build new stairs by knowing the right things to do. All of a sudden, you'll want to climb to this mountain top by using both existing stairs and your own. The effectiveness with which you are prospecting and sponsoring new people improves as does the way you coach new members. You will create multiple pathways to the top for you and your team.
It's so trivial, isn't it? Doing it - or better - living it, is not as easy but, it isn't difficult either. It will eventually become part of you. It all needs your persistence, your lasting will and actions to make that perspective your and your team's perspective.
The right perspective is key - There are probably many more keys lying around in the field of network marketing. Whenever you find one, just pass it on to your downline. That will help them align with these win-win customer service strategies.
